ABOUT US

QPG-CLUBS-BANNER_edited.jpg

QPG first launched in April 2016 as QPG Football Academy, created by two of the youngest Queen’s Park Community Councillors, and along with the support of a small community QPCC grant, we were able to build exciting and worthwhile partnerships with Active Westminster and Everyone Active, whilst training up local residents as coaches with Queen’s Park Rangers FC and the London FA cohort.

The following year saw an expansion into local schools and our brilliant partnership with Wilberforce Primary School and Queen’s Park Community Council led to an improved Ofsted rating of a good with outstanding rating and numerous daily activities ranging from sports to important life skills. The launch of the hub coincided with the tragic loss of life at the Grenfell Tower Fire, our volunteers continued to support the community via weekly care-packs in partnership with the Felix Project over the next five years, more recently supporting residents through the Covid-19 pandemic and the on-going cost of living crisis, all while continuing to strengthen our partnerships with Knight Frank, Wilmott Dixon, The Parlour and Planet Organic.

2018 saw the launch of our holiday clubs, including the very popular Easter and Summer Camps, which were supported by our new accreditations with the Mayor of London, Active Westminster, Everyone Active and kindly funded by the trustees at the WCC Young Westminster Foundation.

The global pandemic saw our cohort of volunteers triple in size, and we were extremely lucky to have such a wonderful team of delivery drivers, food packers, and tutors to ensure our services could continue to be delivered socially distanced.

As of 2022 QPG continues to see its memberships expand weekly, working closely with a number of schools in both Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea, along with sporting venues across the boroughs to ensure the delivery of varied weekly free sporting activities. Our clubs are open to all residents with children aged 5 years plus.

We are extremely grateful for the continued support as we aim to ensure that free sports can continue to be accessed by all children in Queen’s Park regardless of skill, level, or background. No child and family will be left out as we all continue to grow and develop our sporting and coaching skills. We are very happy to be working with Planet Organic and Knight Frank to create even more new activities.
